Creative Crucible 2013 took place 25th-26th March 2013 at Gregynog Hall, Powys.
Background
Based on the Welsh Crucible, the Creative Crucible is a programme for future creative leaders in Wales to foster innovative, collaborative working.
Who should apply?
Participants will be early career researchers or entrepreneurs within the creative disciplines. Each University in Wales is allowed up to 5 nominations to attend, although if Creative Crucible is oversubscribed we may have to limit nominations. For information on your institution's nominating process please email [email protected]
How will it work?
Successful applicants will be invited to a two-day residential lab, where attendees will develop a relationship and potential areas for collaborative working. There will be a focus on developing skills for interacting and implications of working with businesses and academics, through the presentation of case studies and the direct involvement of businesses in the lab. There will be space and support to develop collaborative ideas that may benefit from external funding support.
When and where will it be held?
Creative Crucible will be held on 25-26 March 2013, at Gregynog Hall, Newtown, Powys, SY16 3PW
FAQ:
Q: have already been on the Welsh Crucible scheme. Am I still eligible for the Creative Crucible?
A: Yes. Participants may find that there is some overlap with Welsh Crucible, but we intend to offer a suitably different experience and skills development programme for Creative Crucible.
Q: I can only attend for one day. Will I be able to come along?
A: No. Creative Crucible is intended to be a residential course for attendees so you will be expected to attend both days.
Q: Will you pay for replacement teaching cover?
A: No. In order for you to attend you will need to ensure that your line manager/colleagues are willing to cover duties for the duration of the residential course. For businesses that wish to attend, we will not be able to pay for your time but travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Q: Will you be running Creative Crucible again in the future?
A: The funding for Creative Exchange Network Wales is for one year only, and we are unable to commit to further rounds of Creative Crucible. However, we hope that if we are able to demonstrate a need and demand from Creative Crucible we will be able to attract further funding for future years.
Q: What If I have further questions?
A: The CEWN project manager, Dr Richard Bromiley, will be willing to answer any queries and clarifications relating to this document. If any queries have outcomes that will be important to all potential applicants, these will be communicated to all parties as soon as possible via the CEWN website.
