the Welsh Assembly Government’ recommends that an audit of Wales’ creative industries be undertaken, based on the sub sectors identified by the Department of Culture Media and Sport.
The Welsh Government are partnering with Wavehill to map the presence and impact of the Creative Industries Sector in Wales. The research has two distinct phases, a secondary element to review and update the existing mapping of creative industries data in Wales, identifying gaps and recommendations on how to address these. See http://www.wavehill.com/2012/11/mapping-the-creative-industries-in-wales/ for more information.
CEWN will be providing additional richness to the mapping process. This involves a survey-based review of opportunities, barriers and inhibitors within the research and commercial functions of Welsh HEIs, to provide a mirror to the data that will be collected through the Wavehill research. The CEWN research component will produce a review that will identify any inhibitors within the industry, make recommendations for further analyses and potentially suggest ways of enhancing business-university collaboration.
